okay so when i was a teen i got a full ride scholarship to a really nice private high school which meant i ended up hanging out with a bunch of rich kids and i’ll never forget this one girl who’s parents got a divorce after her dad tried to hit on their secretary and the secretary revealed she was already having an affair with his wife and that’s why she got invited on all the family’s vacations
both of my parents are affected by the government shutdown and we will be losing income as a family.
my mother was helping my boyfriend and I with the rent and security deposit for the place we are desperately hoping to get. due to the shutdown those funds will, very understandably, have to go towards my parents mortgage and taking care of them + my 3 siblings + our pets.
this means my boyfriend and I’s ability to pay for the second half of our fees. The deposit and rent are $1750 each, coming out to $3500 total. We very reasonably have the first $1750, but the second half is up in the air at this point.
this isn’t for an exorbitant condo or anything. it’s just a small 1br apartment within commuting distance to school. if you’ve followed me for a while, you probably know since I’ve moved into this area I’ve been stuck in two very toxic households, both experiencing racism and being exposed to domestic abuse. it’s very important for me that I am able to live somewhere comfortable as I finish out this last few months of school and prepare to go into the workforce.
i don’t expect to raise an entire $1750. me and my boyfriend both have one more paycheck before we’d potentially be moving, which might give us another $700 or so.
if you can give anything, it would be extremely appreciated. i am still offering my writing, editing, research, data entry and etc. services. at this point i would be open to adult content. my only equipment right now is a decent iPhone and a legible laptop webcam, but I can make it work.
hey so my mom basically can’t help with my rent and my EBT is almost definitely not going to refill in February because of the shutdown! I have already turned in my hours for my Jan 26 payday and with that I’ll have half my rent.
I’ll need about $300 to bridge the gap in my rent. It’s due on Feb 1.
As usual, I appreciate all donations. I am still willing to do writing and other services if you’re not comfortable donating.
I am probably going to have to take out some of my unsubsidized loans from school to keep up with rent over the next few months, but I don’t have time to do it this month :/
haha sike I don’t have enough eligibility in unsubsidized loans to pay rent anyways, so I’ll have to find some other way to make up for it after February.
Also I haven’t updated the OP but we’re living in a smaller, more affordable 2br place we’re sharing with 2 other people. My rent is only $600 now.
